*MANNATECH ™ - THE SCIENTIFIC EDGE
Science and medicine have long tried to break the biocode by which the cells of the body communicate with one another in order for its complex functions to occur. just as biochemistry is the chemistry of life, this mysterious code is the language of life...
For many years, scientists focused on proteins as the primary communication molecules. Early in this century however, a theoretical mathematician at the Weisman Institute calculated the number of molecular configurations possible with protein molecules and the number of known chemical command signals needed to run the body. She concluded that there were not enough protein configurations possible to supply all the messages. Another code was required—a sugar code...
Of the 200 monosaccharides that occur naturally in plants, eight have been discovered to be components of cell-surface glycoforms used in cell-to-cell communication. These eight sugars are glucose, fucose, mannose, galactose, xylose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine and N-acetylneuraminic acid...Only two of these, glucose and galactose, are commonly found in foods we choose to eat...It was Mannatech’s Chief Science Officer Dr. Bill McAnalley, who recognized the benefits of nutritional supplementation with a blend containing saccharides necessary for communication...
As a pharmacologist, he knew that the non-toxic nature of glyconutritional raw materials would not qualify as drug ingredients. But with his background in patents, he knew that both composition and use patents could apply to this new supplement. By directly increasing the intake of carbohydrates needed to create glycoprotein “words” quickly and accurately, cell-to-cell communication might be enhanced. So, rather than attempt to develop synthetic carbohydrates, Mannatech chose to focus its research and development on natural carbohydrate products designed to work through the body’s normal physiology to maintain optimal health with improved nutrition...
Mannatech’s flagship product is Ambrotose® complex, a patent-pending glyconutrient blend of specific, plant-derived carbohydrates containing saccharides necessary for cellular communication. It is marketed in capsules and bulk powder a stand-alone product and as an ingredient blend in many of the company’s other products...
Glyconutritional products will play a leading role in the 21st century’s emerging wellness industry. The driving determinant will be the growing realization the optimal cell-to-cell communication is one of the most critical functions of the life process and is fundamental to immune system health!!! - FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO - http://www.mannatech.com/ !!!
CROP CIRCLES, GODS, ANGELS AND ALIENS
Major religions of all sorts, from the shamanic to the most modern seem to be based on some sort of encounter with an alien presence, or what might seem like an alien presence. According to some theories, it's just the other half of our brain, our perception of reality. Information processes going through the human nervous system get adapted to the local belief system. On close examination, the boundaries between religious contexts and UFO lore seem to blur, sometimes becoming interchangeable, colored only by our own beliefs, our world view. What follows is a small overview of some from different historical times, different cultures...

CROP CIRCLES IN SOLANO COUNTY CALIFORNIA!?!
While crop circles may be new to Solano County, reports of them are centuries old and theories abound that explain what, or who, is making them...the first known crop circle formation was in 1647 in England, and in the 1970s reports of crop circles began to increase worldwide...
in the 1990s, circles began appearing with complex geometrical designs...On average nearly 250 such formations are reported across the world each year and several thousand reports have been documented since researchers began keeping track, according to data from the southern circular research, which monitors and surveys crop formations in england...England is a top spot for crop circles, and some say extraterrestials are involved...
(also...there is at least some speculation out there that the teenagers who recently took credit for the creation of the crop circles in solano county could in fact be paid CIA operatives sent out to debunk the crop circle phenomenon) - FOR MORE INFORMATION ON CROP CIRCLES GO TO - http://www.cropcirclenews.com/
UK OPENS ITS OWN 'X-FILE'
LONDON, England -- It could have been an "X-Files" episode: More than 20 years ago, U.S. airmen reported seeing a "strange glowing object" near a British air base. The bizarre UFO sighting, which occurred near RAF Woodbridge in eastern England in the early hours of December 27, 1980, is detailed in the government 's restricted "Rendlesham File."
The report, dozens of pages long, is only now being released as part of an opening-up of the inner workings of the UK government. In the report, entitled "Unexplained Lights," a U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel told how he witnessed an object emitting a "red sun-like light" moving through the trees of Rendlesham forest. Two U.S. security patrolmen first spotted "unusual lights" outside the back gate of RAF Woodbridge, according to Lt. Col. Charles I. Halt's report.
After gaining permission, the two men and a third patrolman investigated the lights. "The individuals reported seeing a strange glowing object in the forest," wrote Halt, who was deputy base commander at RAF Bentwaters, adjacent to Woodbridge. "The object was described as being metallic in appearance and triangular in shape, approximately two to three metres across the base and approximately two metres high.
"It illuminated the entire forest with a white light. The object itself had a pulsing red light on top and a bank(s) of blue lights underneath. The object was hovering or on legs. "As the patrolmen approached the object, it manoeuvred through the trees and disappeared. An hour later, the UFO was spotted near the back gate to the base. Halt's report continued: "Later in the night a red sun-like light was seen through the trees. It moved about and pulsed. At one point it appeared to throw off glowing particles and then broke into five separate white objects and then disappeared.
"Immediately thereafter, three star-like objects were noticed in the sky, two objects to the north and one to the south, all of which were about 10 degrees off the horizon. "The objects moved rapidly in sharp angular movements and displayed red, green and blue lights. The objects to the north appeared to be elliptical through an 8-12 power lens. They then turned to full circles. "The objects to the north remained in the sky for an hour or more. The object to the south was visible for two or three hours and beamed down a stream of light from time to time." The next morning, Halt and his men discovered three circular depressions, seven inches in diameter, in the ground. Radiation measuring 0.1 milliroentgens was recorded in the depressions -- a level 10 times higher than normal, according to the file. The airmen tried unsuccessfuly to capture the sightings on camera, according to another document that said the film was at fault. Also, nothing showed up on RAF radar.
A Ministry of Defence memo included in the file shows some scepticism about the sightings, although it said the department was "open-minded" about them. No evidence was found of any threat to the defence of the United Kingdom, and no further investigations were carried out...In the absence of any hard evidence, the MoD remains open-minded about these sightings...

some interesting questions from the muckraker publication 'the meridian'...
where are all those weapons of mass destruction? why are children age 13-16 being held by the US at guantanamo bay? why were no aircraft fragments from a boing 757 recovered from the 9-11 pentagon crash site? what are the business connections between the bin laden and bush families? (carlyle group, arbusto oil etc?) why was the bin laden family private jet the only one allowed to fly in the days following 9-11? why have no officials been reprimanded or lost their jobs for failing to prevent 9-11? (how about losing your job in the 2004 election, mr. bush?) we impeach presidents that lie, right?...is it possible to impeach and unelected president? why hasn't there been a full investigation into the trading of united and american stock before 9-11? isn't it a conflict of interest for FCC commissioners to have accepted 2.8 million $$$ in travel vouchers from media lobbyists? why is the bush administration refusing to release the congressional 9-11 investigation? why did so many in congress vote for the patriot act without even reading it? why does the control of the entire US media rest in the hands of five (non-elected) FCC commissioners? why is the US the only major industrialized nation without health care for all it's citizens? why is a presidential candidate's merit and credibility based upon how much money they can raise? how can it be a 'patriot act' when it seeks to remove five amendments in the bill of rights? why has the mainstream media failed to report on the estimated 10,000 iraqi civilians killed in the invasion of iraq? lies don't make truth and might does not make right, even if the president says they do? why was the bush administration meeting with members of the bin laden family on september 10th, 2001? why is crafting a department of peace considered 'radical', while waging endless war is considered 'conservative'? are we prepared to continually sacrifice the lives of US soldiers to maintain our occupation of iraq? why is the US building up a deficit so large that our grandchildren will be paying it off? what happened to the one trillion dollars that the pentagon cannot account for??? answer the questions!!!
QUICK POLITICAL SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST
"preventing an attack is always difficult...convincing the publics of the world that there's a need to take preventative action, to stop something before it happens, is an even more difficult task... go back to september 1st, for example, before the september 11th attack, and imagine what was available. a phone call here, a credit card there, someone trying to learn how to fly but he wasn't terribly interested in learning how to land...and you know, and you've got this scrap, and that scrap and this piece. and imagine if the president of the united states had had that three or four, five, six, eight, 10 scraps of information possibly, and had gone to the country and the world and said, "we need to invade afghanistan and overthrow the taliban and stop the al qaeda from using afghanistan as a terrorist training center and root out the al qaeda terrorist network and other terrorist networks all across the globe, or we run the risk of suffering a september 11th-like attack." how many countries would have joined us in a coalition? many? any? unlikely. yet, had that happened, september 11th might have been avoided. and 3,000 innocent lives, men, women and children of every conceivable faith and -- would have been saved." - secretary of defense donald h. rumsfeld tuesday, february 25, 2003 remarks at the hoover institution...
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
given all of george bush's rhetoric on the democratization of iraq following "liberation" through the generosity of the american war machine, it might be useful to a short test on the effect of former american military involvement in promoting democracy...this test consists of one (1) multiple-choice question. here's a list of the countries and dates that the US has bombed since the end of world war II, compiled by historian william blum:
China 1945-46 / Korea 1950-53 / China 1950-53 / Guatemala 1954 / Indonesia 1958 / Cuba 1959-60 / Guatemala 1960 / Congo 1964 / Peru 1965 / Laos 1964-73 / Vietnam 1961-73 / Cambodia 1969-70 / Guatemala 1967-69 / Grenada 1983 / Libya 1986 / El Salvador 1980s / Nicaragua 1980s / Panama 1989 / Iraq 1991-2003 / Sudan 1998 / Afghanistan 1998 / Yugoslavia 1999 / Afghanistan 2001
In how many of these instances did a democratic government, respectful of human rights, occur as a direct result? Choose one of the following: (a) 0 - (b) zero - (c) none - (d) not a one - (e) a whole number between -1 and +1 ???...

THE INEVITABILITY OF DEEPENED DEMOCRACY
likroper@likroper.com wrote: one of the problems with the system of 'representative democracy' is that it puts forth the illusion that race actually matters, when it clearly should not (in a colorblind society)...AND when deepened democracy finally takes hold here in america and abroad, and when all voices rise to be counted, race will finally be the non-issue that it always was...and not just one woman in a thousand will be a leader, but instead all women will lead their collective destinies, and all men as well...
(any given cross section of people randomly chosen from any racial background do not necessarily vote alike...this is a misconception...it is my belief that race only matters to the shallow and materialistic amongst us, and to the present decidedly divisive and obsolete system of representative governance that we now utilize here in america...and off spreading democracy in iraq, are you mr. bush?...how about spreading some deepened democracy here in america instead?)...
city councils could then become paid city advisers chosen by the community to give advise on how to vote on issues, instead of sucking up all the power and keeping people down, as they do presently...(and taking all the blame when the blame needs to be spread out evenly...deepened democracy will accomplish this)... no more blaming the flood of discontent on the one individual who pulled his or her finger from the crack in the stone wall, as blame will be spread out evenly...and also, imagine no more costly protest movements, as people will have no one to blame but themselves...
yes, but it also means that the politicians that are in it for the power trip and perks will then be outmoded by those who are not...or the politicians who want to 'even the score', so to speak, for years of caucasian rule, for instance, will then step aside for the literal common sense of deepened democracy...it might not happen for a few years, but it will happen...increasing populations being 'represented' by the few will go by the wayside for the quantum mechanics of deepened democracy...her arrival is something that both the american and chinese governments dread, but she is inevitable... her name is 'the inevitability of deepened democracy'...she is the future, and it will be soon time to step aside for her...
(in summary, once democracy is deepened - strong opinions will no longer be a 'political liability' as obsolete 'representative' politicians will slowly become outmoded by the common sense of the masses...strong opinions will be relied upon to form a consensus on issues - censorship will go by the wayside for free speech and expression - the cornerstones of our slowly evolving democracy...) sincerely, lik roper...
MARIJUANA
likroper@likroper.com wrote: dick nixon made marijuana a federal crime when the white house was surrounded by, what was it? 100,000 or so pot smokin' hippies back around 1970, and congress approved this bogus law by mr. dick...mr. dick was soon impeached after this, and his bogus law still stands...well, now we have a new dick in the white house and 100 zillion people all over the world protesting the new dick we have had thrust upon us by those idiots in the supreme court...three steps up, one step back...and the US federales can't claim state's rights to win the election, then claim federal over state on the prop 215 issue - they can't have it both ways - sorry!...whatever way the wind blows, or what?...just passing wind?...another old fool judge blowing smoke out his ass as usual?...
so, while at least some of you out there still have a 1930s reefer madness view of marijuana...marijuana is about (this) close to being legal, and i know at least a few people who have gone through 'rehabilitation' and still smoke it, always have smoked it, and always will smoke it, whether anyone in the government likes it or not...(and as a journalist, i don't have to reveal my sources, and i don't need a journalists' license or permit because this is not china, this is AMERICA...it's called the FREE PRESS...)
...i also know many people who once smoked it constantly and just plain quit one day, cold turkey...so, it is not quite the inescapable addictive drug that many people think that it is...(this truth-as-i-see-it also should not be misconstrued as an invitation or advertisment to try marijuana)...
marijuana is a mood stabilizer, plain and simple, not some dangerous psycho tropic drug used in the psychiatric profession that you are trained to believe is necessary or good...while weed works like a psycho tropic drug for many of its' users, it is also a plant that will revolutionize the world in the next century, mark my words...
it doesn't matter how much anti marijuana government propaganda that gets spewed upon us, ten zillion marijuana smokers cannot be wrong...it seems that it will take the might of all the american people to forcefully pull the US governments' big fat head out of its' ass on this medical marijuana subject...medical marijuana is legal in california and nine other states!!!...case closed!!!
OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTINGS
likroper@likroper.com wrote: why is it when a wild animal is to be removed from a residential neighborhood, tranqilizer darts are often used - but humans are shot in cold blood? it's not ok for military police to shoot iraqis in iraq, and it's not ok for cops to shoot americans in america...you know, if there was all that uproar over rodney king a few years back, why do 'we' still accept peoples' lives being taken by cops in officer involved shootings?...i would rather be beaten with billy clubs than shot full of bullet holes...'officer-involved shootings' are essentially the death penalty, with no due process, done on the street by some cop who gets a paid vacation for his cold-blooded murder, and it must stop...
JURY DUTY?
here is a letter that i never sent to the chief deputy jury commissioner in santa clara county:
Thank you for your letter of correspondence…i will be considering attending services due to the rather coercive nature of the letter that you sent to me...but, my many reasons for not wanting to attend still remain...1) i understand that the only reason i am part of your jury duty mailing list is because i vote...(that and my DMV records)...when i vote, my vote is selectively IGNORED (whether it be 45,000+ signatures for preserving coyote valley, the friends of sunnyvale petition to stop uncontrolled downtown re-development in sunnyvale, petitions for speed humps in my own neighborhood, the year 2000 presidential election power grab, etc) why should i hold up my end of the bargain by being reduced to a mere pawn in your jury pool???...i aint no pawn and this aint chess...) due to my past experiences with a) crooked cops, b) neighbors who lie on depositions and c) a sunnyvale police chief who seemingly quit his job because of it all, i generally do not trust the judicial system at this point in time...(not to mention my guitar player friend jimmy finley who purportedly almost had his arms broken by prison guards while doing time recently - etcetcetc) i figure that at least a good portion of what goes on in most courtrooms in america is a bunch of totally bogus crap...that is my opinion, and it will not change anytime soon...i like courtrooms as much as i like going to the dentist, the hospital or the colon hydrotherapist...and i don't even have a colon hydrotherapist. / 2. (also, i have been told by 'those who know' that when entering any courtroom, i essentially surrender all of my constitutional rights...why would i enter any building where i have to surrender my rights???...answer the question!!!...order in the court!!!...it makes about as much sense as vacationing in afghanistan...)3) i must make one point perfectly clear: i reserve the right to excuse myself in court (not from court) for any flatulent outgassing that i may emit while in attendance...4) mainly, in the 'dress code' section of the jury duty correspondence it clearly states that i need 'proper business attire' to attend court...i neither have nor want 'proper business attire'....5) there is no number five at this point in time...if i think of a number five, i will surely tell you...sincerely, lik roper...
MEN AND WOMEN
likroper@likroper.com wrote: could the root of much of the domestic violence in this world come from the emotional repression of males???...could it be that simple?...one of the main reasons men get violent, is because they are sensitive, and many women actually like to toy with that sensitivity...big mistake...
> (one of the first things i learned way back in school was DO NOT laugh at mongo jock's shoes, so to speak, because he can stuff you in the garbage can...and now some of you gals out there want to date mongo? wake up...mongo is sensitive and more often than not gets domestically violent because of this sensitivity...just because he is large and impending looking does not mean he is lacking sensitivity...
and i've always believed that women emotionally repress men as a control measure, plain and simple, and it's all about manipulation - and their perceived second class-citizenship status - more than anything else) >
and when it comes to 'deepened democracy' and male/female relations, there really is none...(other than sex, if you know what i mean...and since sex is a choice, i am a pro-choice individual...please choose me, ladies)...women are generally non-democratic entities that act as dictators in their interpersonal relationships, and 'abortion rights' are a good example of this...so, when deepened democracy finally settles in here in america and abroad in a political sense, women should follow suit and exchange their roles in society as 'dictatorial victims' (excuse the expression) and take on a new responsible role, not only responsible for the financial consequences of the pre-marital sex they engage in, but also responsible in their power-sharing when it comes to relations with the opposite sex...
and many women say they want a nice guy, but when they actually get one, or sort of train one to be nice, they get rid of him...what message does that send to him? (women must start by being nice to begin with, but let's face it; many women are not, so it must start within)...many women actually like emotionally devoid men who remind them of themselves, then turn around and complain about them!?!...(being a 'sweet jerk', as an old friend of mine once said, is the key to keeping chicks around)...but, when a man's emotions start flowing out, many women fold under the pressure and flee...
the truth is: if a man is tough enough, he can express his emotions without fear, and in fact, men who are emotionally aware are actually not only nicer to be around, but are also mentally healthier...(and yes, probably less violent)...
mainly, the emotionally devoid or insensitive 'neanderthal' man does not call the woman on her 'mistakes', because he is, of course, too tough to be bothered by it, and this gives the woman a sense of freedom...no matter how much she screws up, he will say little or nothing about it...why?because complaining about her behavior or disagreeing with her in any way almost always leads to 'we're not getting along', which more often than not leads to 'no more sex', and this is not good...maybe it's not that simple, but then maybe it is...(who knows, but she is not available for comment at this time...)
THE BOTTOM LINE: can you put up with each others' bullshit??? if the answer is yes, then you both can win...
best of lik roper for president - WHEN I AM PRESIDENT I WILL:
*use the secret government to strategically raise the terror alert status - especially during elections or political snafus – and snuff out flying senators to change the balance of power in congress, among other things.
*utilize new tank-mounted microwave radiation crowd control technology (created in conjunction with the major automakers) to thwart ‘soft targets’ like anti-suv protestors, making tienamen square and/or kent state pale in comparison.
*remove all war supporters from the face of the earth in one clean sweep with cool new back engineered military ufo technology, and then provide anger management courses and psychological testing.
*not let a massive CIA blunder (9-11) deny people of their constitutional rights (federal or state) and not allocate more funds to spy agencies who royally screw up.
*not allow the idealistic dream of deepened democracy to perish because of a temporal 'war' emergency, and not re-instate mccarthyism in response to it.
*require psychological testing and anger management courses for all war supporters and/or supporters of terrorism and remind everyone once again that any act of war is an act of terrorism. period.
*consider the u.s. defense departments' seemingly purposeful pread of the synthetic biological agent responsible for the aids virus in 1970 a deliberate act of global biological terrorism aimed at de-population, (along with recent attempts to overturn key environmental legislation in the united states) and warn people to be leery of any new mass smallpox vaccinations because that is how the aids virus and the carcinogenic simian virus sv40 was initially spread into the human population.
*require third party toxicity screenings for all new immunization vaccines to prevent the purposeful spread of any more viral infections like the aids virus.
*de-commission the supreme court and keep the building as a historic landmark to remind people of the kind of blatant un-democratic demagoguery that once occurred on american soil, (before the u.s. became a fully actualized nation of, for and by the people, where deepened democracy finally took hold, when new hampshire-style democracy spread across the land to grant local control to all constituents, and congress was limited to international duties).
*set a ten year goal of 50 percent reliance on photovoltaic energy production, and encourage expanded solar energy utilization in equatorial regions.
*move some threatened or endangered species to selected remote areas where they can flourish without negative impacts on the environment, not as an excuse to roll back ecosystem protections, but instead as a low-cost safeguard against extinction.
*allow peaceful protestors to utilize human aura force field fortifying generators when being bombarded with tank-mounted electromagnetic wave crowd control equipment on the battle field.
*force law enforcement to treat protestors better than your average death row prisoner, ban off-camera jailhouse abuses, and question 'don't ask - don't tell' police strip-search policies.
*prohibit government-owned utilities (or any energy provider for that matter) from committing grand theft by purposely jacking up wholesale electricity prices to unreasonably high levels.
*encourage disenfranchised youth to join radical environmental protest organizations because college is no guarantee of anything anymore. (and besides governments and/or multinational corporations are conspiring to slowly destroy our mother earth at closed-door world trade meetings not unlike midieval rulers holed up in a castle surrounded by a mote designed to hold all of the lowly and unruly peasants at bay)
*make sixteen year old boys responsible for what they do with weapons, but also make sixteen year old girls accountable for what they do with their bodies. (since females are generally mentally and physically more mature than most males at this age)
*push for efficient and clean mass transit systems that would not only greatly reduce our dependence on oil, but reduce transportation costs, pollution and traffic accidents.
*favor energy price caps and reshape our energy policy to favor cleaner, more efficient technologies, (such as solar) by subsidizing the installation of photovoltaic solar energy panels on commercial, industrial and residential rooftops and create larger tax breaks for all solar energy users.
*call for a new industrial revolution in which ecology, accountability and profit become partners on equal footing in the global economy.
*head off projects that harm wildlife habitat, especially wetlands-damaging development outside urban boundaries to ensure the protection of critical habitat for rare and endangered species.
*make constitutional rights applicable to all people (as well as those involved in presidential elections), and ensure that all people reserve their full constitutional rights when entering any courtroom or public hearings facility.
*will not whip out vaguely written 'domestic terrorism' laws to control angry non-violent constituents when forcefully shoving more heavy-handed government legislation down the collective throats of the public.
*will not use the CIA , FBI (or the media) to create high profile distractions from larger, more important stories or issues.

The Concord Principles - BY RALPH NADER
originally written by ralph nader in 1992, the concord principles set forth ten argumentsof how democracy has been abused, and the constructive tools that citizens can use to regain their rightful participation in their own destiny. nader urges all presidential candidates to adhere to these principles in their campaigns and in whatever public offices they may hold.
first: democracy must empower and enable citizens to obtain timely and accurate information from their government, enable citizens to band together in civic associations in pursuit of a just society, and communicate their judgments through modern technology.
second: the american people should have reasonable control over the public lands, public media airwaves, pension funds, and other societal assets which the public legally owns, rather than having these public assets controlled by a powerful few.
third: we need modern mechanisms so that civic power for self-government and self-reliance can correct the often converging power imbalance of big business, and big government that weakens the rights of citizens.
fourth: citizens should have measures to ensure that their voting powers are not diluted, over-run, or nullified. such measures include easier voter registration, state-level binding initiatives and referendums, public financing of campaigns, and term limits not to exceed 12 years.
fifth: citizens must have full legal standing to challenge in the courts the waste, fraud, and abuse of government spending. overly complex, mystifying jargon in our laws and procedures must be simplified and clarified so that the general public is not shut out from understanding and challenging them.
sixth: citizens should be accorded computerized access in libraries and in their homes to the full range of government information. inserts in billing statements from monopolized utilities and financial companies should invite consumers to join consumer action watchdog groups. the public, which owns the tv/cable/radio media airwaves, which are leased for free to large commercial businesses, should have its own audience network to inform, alert, and mobilize democratic citizen debate and initiatives.
seventh: effective legal protections are needed for ethical whistleblowers who alert americans to abuses or hazards to health and safety in the workplace, contamination in the environment, or the defrauding of citizens. such conscientious workers need rights to ensure they will not be fired or demoted for speaking out within the corporations, the government, or in other bureaucracies.
eighth: working people need a reasonable measure of control over how their pension monies are invested, rather than it being controlled by banks and insurance companies.
ninth: shareholders, who are the owners of companies, should not have their assets wasted or worker morale victimized by overpaid executives who give themselves bonuses, greenmail, and golden parachutes, self-perpetuating boards of directors, and a stifling of the proxy voting system to block shareholder voting reforms.
tenth: our country's schoolchildren need to be taught democratic principles in their historic context and present relevance, with practical civics experiences to develop their citizen skills and a desire to use them, and so they will be nurtured to serve as a major reservoir of future democracy.
*the concord principles outline the tools for enabling a better informed and strengthened civic participation by citizens in their roles as voters, taxpayers, consumers, workers, shareholders, and students. all political candidates should commit to these principles unless, that is, they just want your vote, but would rather not have you looking over their shoulder from a position of knowledge, strength, and wisdom. -ralph nader
