THE WORDS OF ROPERNICUS

all words and terms must be created sometime – by someone...

1) mahoogalator - (ma-hoo-ga-la-tor) a vague term originally brought forth by my old neighbor gil, multiple meanings were assigned to this word by ancient peterson high school jock/stoner sub culture back in the late 1970s – this can mean to leave or depart - as in 'let's mahoogalate on over to the  7-11, dude' or a descriptive, drunk keg-party reference to the subgroup - 'we are the mahoogalators' - (legend has it that the word mahoogalator was derived from a song by the band styx where it is supposedly quietly uttered before the beginning of a guitar solo...not that I am a big styx fan or anything...)

2) prodiferous - (pro-di-fer-us) a cross between productive and proliferate - this means something along the lines of 'magnificently productive' - 'the field of wild flowers was blooming prodiferously' or ‘my gal and i did the old in and out quite prodiferously yesterday’...

3) grajitate - (gra-je-tate) a combination of graduate and gravitate - or what high school drop outs do after high school – ‘I grajitated towards drumming, getting laid and bong hits after high school’ - (‘turn on – tune in – drop out’ – timothy leary)

4) longetivity - (lon-je-tiv-eh-tee) a cross between longevity and relativity – or 'relative longevity' - i came up with this word after misspelling the word 'longevity' (as a way to save face...) – ‘the ancient egyptian empire lasted about 3,000+ years, and america is but a baby at only 200+ years...this is a good example of relative longevity’ (mr. colin powell!)...

5) combibulator mechanism - (cum-bib-yu-la-tor meh-ka-ni-sm) i believe this term was coined by my old neighbor gil essentially meaning any weird mechanism that you know absolutely nothing about – ‘what is that that thing right next to the head gasket and the carburetor? i think it’s called the ‘combibulator mechanism’ or something’...

THE STORY OF ONLY GOOD NEWS - BY LIK ROPER 

years back i made a 4-track music cd called ‘music from outer space’ and put it out into some local stores...while out delivering bam magazine one day in a comic book store, a guy said 'you need press, dude'...well, yes, there i was delivering one of the bay area's largest music publications of the time, the amazing bam magazine, so this should be obvious...anyway, one thing led to another and the next thing i knew i was putting out a one page flyer called 'only good news' with bam magazine - (go to: http://www.likroper.com/backogn.htm/ to see the typed and scanned back issues)

a few months or so later, i encountered someone along my route that said that my last newsletter helped him quit his gang because it made him realize how bad his gang activity was or something along those lines...

he said that the members of the gang told him to 'watch his back' so my next wisdom quote was: 'bravery walks alone - fear watches its' back - peace is in the heavens' (in other words, those with their eyes to the sky have nothing to fear)...next thing i know, gang members are walking alone along the el camino real, proving that they 'are not afraid' or something...it took just one chip to break up the ice berg and the gang activity slowly subsided after awhile...and having once delivered all over the south bay - getting to many people, i get the feeling that this one gang member was not the only one affected by my  newsletter...i was even almost confronted by a very large gang member one time in downtown sj, but he backed down when he realized that i was not afraid of him...(much like a dog or the government or something)...

...and while the city of san jose used heavy handed - and highly unconstitutional - means to break up the gangs, my accidental newsletter method was much more voluntary and just as effective in a sense...i used my seventh grade typing education and a high school dropout record and suddenly became a publisher by default, of all things!....i even resorted to tricky 'pleidian' techniques of ‘societal manipulation, so to speak’...and just who or what are the ‘pleidians’, you say?

(memo: the pleidians are said to be a benevolent race of beings from the pleides constellation who are supposedly responsible for fooling the human race into forming religions based around ancient ufo sightings to bring humans together and form benevolent communities...well, the experiment has failed disastrously, but they meant well...people took religion off into dogma land and we ended up with the taliban, john ashcroft and george bush's 'holy' WW III against iraq (and north korea?)...anyway...and the reason i believe that the pleidians are responsible for much of the biblical ufo sightings and encounters is because the early hebrews had an obsession with the number seven...

seven this, seven that...seven is the number of perfection in numerology, but the pleides constellation is also known as the 'seven sisters'...could this also be the origination of early pagan goddess worship?...ok, so that's a stretch...and whether the origination of the inspiration for biblical texts came from ufos or not, the bible spread literacy in the ancient world, and without it people would be in much worse shape than they are now. aside from the negatives like christian inquisitions and cia  sponsored talibans, it has taught many decency and respect, and given many a reason to rise above the lower mammals and learn about civilized benevolence...

quite simply, the bible gave the human race a good reason to not act as other animals do, and literacy played a major role in this process of enlightenment, regardless of the continual bastardization and alteration of the original texts throughout history...)

i wrote one only good news story way back saying something like 'mass ufo landings will occur soon' (based on an actual report i read, which i believe actually manifested as the ufo over phoenix in march 1997) 'those who fail to love each other could be hauled off to a slave planet and put to work loading large cement blocks onto train cars all day’ - blahblahblah...i was just joking, but i think some people believed it!!! - (since then i have stayed away from speculating about mass ufo landings)

i think the most accidentally 'controversial' nature of only good news was that it totally ignored the bad deeds of the gang members that the newspaper wrote about at the time (all the time) back in the late 1980s, and this took their power from them (a concept most news organizations still don't get)...most of those affected by the only good newsletter were probably just punks that i came along and 'woke up' so to speak with the newsletter, but little did they know that i was 'waking up' as well in a way, because i was always sort of a high school drop out drummer, and here i was a publisher by default all of the sudden...

one time, when i put a ‘forgiveness coupon’ in the newsletter, someone called me up and thought i was a priest or something, and confessed a bad deed to me!...he wasn’t specific about what he did, but that was probably the strangest thing that has ever happened to me...and while only good news was once monthly, then bi-monthly, then quarterly, then finally three times per year, this is like ancient egyptian priests who worked side by side with everyone else, then became a priest every three months...this experience within the real world probably helped them in their priestly duties...so i guess that i’m like an ancient egyptian priest or something, mainly because i can only handle ‘accessing my higher self’ three times a year...and sometimes that even seems like too much!...

about a year after starting only good news, i had a weird dream where i was in a church with dirt floors, and a serious looking monk walked right towards me, almost right through me, and i woke up with the most incredible feeling of being in the heart or mind of god or something, not just adrenaline, this was something much more...some might call it the feeling of receiving the holy spirit of god or something, and this is precisely what it felt like...after this dream, my wisdom quotes improved dramatically and i seemed to get a better focus about what it was that i was writing...

and after thinking about it for a long while, i realized that not only was only good news like the press in russia, only having praise for government instead of dissent, but it was also like all those city government newsletters that mention only flattering events by city staff...

(only lately have i utilized a cynical spin on only good news, as the term 'good' is relative, is it not?...when the times are this bad, it becomes very hard to ignore the problems...the republicans are back with a vengeance, and i find it impossible to sit quietly by as the illuminati comes back to life, now bigger than ever...)

this is how only good news came to be  - one day after work i met a girl (a 28 year old girl) who invited me to come by later on...she was visiting her step dad and they were going to an ozzy osbourne concert...we smoked a bit of the loco weed, so to speak, and she said she had an out of body experience and came face to face with 'the devil'...this made me uncomfortable and i left...

i then went to the local music store ‘guitar center’ to talk to a friend for a while, kind of bummed out about being 26, living at home, playing drums all the time for seemingly nothing, and meeting loser devil chicks...it was january, and i was having the usual mid-winter hibernation blahs...when i returned home, my dad said that an old friend of mine...
 
(who was in a band called ‘jetboy’ – a sleazy late eighties glam rock band from san francisco...the mohawked, punk rock lead singer of jetboy was an old friend of mine from high school who used to be a drummer, then sort of just ‘became a singer’, and part of my own inspiration to be a singer came from him...i actually roadied for jetboy during their record company signing phase...we opened many la shows for guns n roses, jane’s addiction, faster pussycat, poison and great white - among many others...)

...called and needed me to call him back in fifteen minutes to tell him whether i could be on a plane in three hours to play drums in front of fifteen thousand people the very next day...i knew jetboy’s music so well in my head from my roadie days, and i was an obvious first choice to call and replace their drummer(who did crank on the last night of their east coast club tour with a band called ‘kix’, and accidentally fell asleep on his right hand, damaging the nerves)...after not rehearsing for a week, jetboy started their first full blown arena tour in florida, and at sound check the drummer realized his hand didn’t want to work...

the very next day, i was playing onstage in a basketball arena in ft. meyers florida opening up for a christian heavy metal band called stryper...(while stryper is not my favorite band in the world, the only one that ever talked about a 'devil' was christ, as other jews at the time believed in a god concept, evil maybe, but not a 'devil’...)

anyway, so here i was, suddenly on tour with a christian band, and needless to say i took this as some sort of message from 'above' or 'god' or something, having been raised as a roman catholic christian and all...everywhere we toured there were beautiful girls that i could have ‘dated’, so to speak, but didn’t because of this devil chick, something i now somewhat regret...at the time i felt that i was an unsuspecting participant in some sort of ‘divine universal plan’, touring with a band of pirates!...(i had a semi-annoying ex-marine drum roadie that had a habit of running around naked at the hotel after the shows, perhaps to increase his chances of getting some, you know... save that shit for the military barracks dude...)

and because i now tend to think that everyone is an unsuspecting participant in some sort of ‘divine universal plan’, i should have gathered the phone number of every chick we met at all the malls we visited for ‘promotional purposes’, handing out laminated backstage passes all along the way...we made special taxi trips down to every local mall to shop and promote the band by handing out backstage laminates to selected females...(and if you needed some quick cash, you could always sell a backstage pass in the bathroom to someone for twenty bucks or so...they make nice souvenirs...)

about one year later, the soundman from the jetboy tour, who had worked with everyone from george lynch of dokken to the scorpions, offered to record my drumming for free if i flew out to phoenix, arizona...which i did...after flying home with about 80% of the drum tracks recorded, he balked at sending back the tapes, wanting to finish them in a few months...i then called out of state to the only studio that had an akai adam 12-track in the phoenix area (one of the very first multi-track digital recorders, then about $25,000, the same technology now goes for around $2,000) because another friend said that there was one available in santa cruz...i then paid about $500 to some guy out of state who had an akai adam 12-track recorder, and after flaking out twice, he literally had to give my soundman friend a ride to his studio to transfer the drum tracks from analog to digital, because he had lost his license to drive...

anyway, to make a long story short, when my friend mark and i got to the studio in santa cruz, we realized that it was an analog recorder!!! all that for nothing!?!...the digital tapes then sat in my sister's closet wrapped in foil, ziploc bags and tupperware containers for about eight years until i found someone with an akai adam in san jose willing to rent it out for a few hours...

the only other akai adam that i could find was at leo's music in oakland, and lucas films had just rented it when i tried to rent it!! the akai adam was so in demand at the time that it was being used for major feature films of all things!!! frustrated by this and inspired by george martin, i went through my miles of 4-track analog demos, and desperately mixed them down into a makeshift concept album(what would later become 'music from outer space')that was essentially a bunch of random noise as an excuse to have something recorded, anything on cd!!! it seemed like sort of a joke to me, all this piano noise, but when i found that some people actually liked it, i started to like it more...

i mainly wanted to get something out before my 30th birthday, which i did...it wasn't the phoenix tapes, but it would have to do...this bunch of random piano noise consisting of bouncing golf balls on my dad's old piano ended up getting airplay at some college radio stations for a whole year!!! for me, this was like finally going to college, and coming from a family of college graduates, this was important to me, and still is for that matter - (my brother was also once a dj at santa clara university’s radio station kscu fm)...

and what i thought would just be a tape in stores in the san jose area, ended up being distributed by an old friend(who used to sell weed full time way back)with a little record label who sent some over to europe, and i ended up getting a letter from someone in tel aviv who wanted to buy my cd mail order because their friend in england had a copy of my cd!!! i was then sending my only good newsletter out to several people, including this person in israel, knowing that the israeli government reads all the incoming mail, so i was writing stuff speaking directly to the government in israel, and directly influencing policy towards peace...kind of like u2’s bono or frank zappa, pissing off the u.s. state department, or something...

i stopped sending the newsletter out after this, and i always felt like there was something fishy about both of these accidents...i guess i'll never know the truth...i always kind of suspected secret government foul play, but i can't really prove it - so i guess that's that...what am i going to do, go to a government that i do not trust, and ask them to investigate themselves?...yeh, right...anyway) >

...and it was only after i stopped sending the newsletter through the mail overseas that the peace ended in the middle east, and i always felt like i should have kept sending it out, because maybe, just maybe, that would have made a difference, who knows...(don’t i sound like some sort of ex-president, or something?) - wait a minute, this was supposed to be a stupid 4-track tape demo in stores only in the san jose area, so how the heck did this happen!?!

(and only later, after learning more about different religions, did i find that early christians said something like 'spread the good news about christ' as a way to piss of those who thought they had a victory in christ's 'death'...i didn't even think of the name only good news, in fact a guy at guitar showcase(a local music store)suggested the name and it kind of just stuck...the first edition of only good news came out on april fools day 1992, kind of as a joke because most news was bad at the time, being the end of the last republican dominated military-industrial complex political era and all)

try to imagine san jose in the late 1980s - early 1990s as being iraq or something, and pretend you're working for the cia, and you want to infiltrate the population with propaganda to help stabilize the opposition(instead of destabilize)which in this case was san jose gang members...there is not much difference between propaganda leaflets dropped out of an airplane on a foreign country, a newspaper, only good news, or network news for that matter...they can all serve the same purpose in a sense...

(and by the way, the justice department's recent bogus anti-marijuana ads lie about marijuana...most marijuana in california, is grown in california, and as long as the u.s. federales keep fighting it, it will be coming from dangerous imported sources!!! but, most people don't know this and fall for the half-truth presented to them in the bogus tv ads...government propaganda at it's worst...)

anyway, ever since touring with the christian heavy metal band, and because of the strange events leading up to it, i became very interested in comparative theology in order to possibly understand this thing called religion a bit more...not only did i seek to understand the meaning of the 'god' concept, but also this concept of the 'devil'...

my brother (who passed on a few years back) didn't believe in the 'devil' concept, and i still lean towards believing that there is one big thing called 'god', and everything in the universe is this 'god', partially because of the influence of my brother's logical mind, and partially because it supports a monotheistic belief system...if you believe in a 'devil' not only do you give it power through your beliefs...if there even is one, but you also threaten the concept of monotheism...having a 'god' and a 'devil' would make two 'gods' in a sense, would it not? there is supposedly only 'one god'!!!...

it is said that the ancient egyptians would occasionally have their crops raided by wild bulls at night, and they called them something along the lines of the 'gods of chaos', and this is where the stereotypical 'devil horns' came from...and this is precisely what i was telling an old guitar player friend - james 'marshall' finley, who was hands down one of the world's greatest guitar players years back - one night while walking to a liquor store in downtown palo alto years back...and i was going on about how the devil horns came from egyptian legend, when we came out of an alley and came face to face with a guy in a devil suit, and it wasn't halloween!!!

another strange 'devil' related occurrence happened right before attending a meeting with the city of santa clara traffic engineering department about traffic calming in our neighborhood...the city traffic engineers had obviously lied about the number of accidents on our property in their report, and i had to go the insurance office to get proof of the all claims we had made because of the various cars that came flying up on our property over the years, causing massive damage...while i was at the insurance office talking to the cute girl who worked there, she proceeded to tell me about how a prostitute had been caught in a garbage dumpster right outside doin' it with a john, and they were only caught because her head was seen bobbing up and down from outside of the dumpster!!! but the strangest thing about it was that the dumpster was just outside the window of the apartment where the step dad of the girl from sonora that i met the night before the arena tour once lived!!! (or still lives, for all i know...)

the teachings of christ always had a tolerant attitude towards 'women of ill repute' and was this just another 'sign from above' for me to interpret??? who was the 'devil' here? it was either the dumpster hooker, or the city of santa clara for trying to cover up our property's accident record!!! needless to say, the dumpster hooker paled in comparison to the greater 'evil' within the city of santa clara's lies...it was once said that the devil is a lie...could this be the proof???...

(the entire last section started as a rough draft email to oakland mayor jerry brown written on a saturday, and after writing it, i went to lift weights and badly dislocated my shoulder that night, laying me up for about a month! i have healed since...)

in our increasingly sort of amish inspired puritanical society many of us are very caught up in being too politically correct and in denial about the things that make up a normal and healthy human being, like sex and sexuality, while on the other hand we are asked to support violence like war...face it, political correctness is for politicians, and most of us are not running for office...

and as you saw with the massive and ridiculous reaction to lewinski and clinton, there seems to be an almost unnatural obsession amongst the american groupthink tank when it comes to sex, and this was for a president that was very anti-war(on the surface, anyway) and many of these same people that were abhorred by clinton and lewinskis’ sexy behavior, are now in support of war...do you get my point?

anyway, is this sex game just for those who can afford it? or only for those in power? if one has no money and no power, yet still has normal healthy sexual urges, then what? well, the defense department purposefully spread the aids virus back in 1970, so between that and what used to be called 'going to first base' or 'foreplay' now often being called 'inappropriate touching', i guess sex is out of the question, right? for pretty much everybody who wants to be 'free'...and wait, you can't even look at naked people on the internet without the government knowing what naked people you are looking at? and what about the hit country tune 'let's get drunk and screw? wait, we can't do that anymore either because the government just said so...and even though the u.s. government's aids 'virus'(actually a synthetic biological agent)has been proven not to spread through the legalization of prostitution, as nevada has shown, they still fight against legalization...do they want their aids 'virus' to spread, or what?

so, what was this ‘devil chick’ thing representing, anyway? was it the music business in general? was it the loser devil chick that i met before the tour, or was she really just warning me about the bus engine that i was going to unfortunately be forced to listen to for roughly a third of my life on this two week tour? i will never know for sure, but somewhere along the way, i began to see that sex has nothing to do with the devil, other than the demonization society has laid upon sex...

(and after seeing all those post 9-11 ‘girl-centric’ san francisco women in a sf magazine dressed as devils ‘defying the taliban’ or something, the same borderline homosexual women who would happily lock up men for ‘visual harassment’ if they could, my perspective on this was forever changed...)

and you know john ashcroft has some crazy taliban-like religious zealot reasoning behind his anti nakedness stance, even though christ was supposedly tolerant of prostitution...but it's ok to wait foaming at the mouth for the carnage of a war in iraq on tv? even titillating for some? and these people in charge of our government who seem to be titillated by possible war carnage, are often the same people telling us we can't look at naked images on our computers? (and what about the cover of nirvana’s ‘nevermind’ album?) - so, who are these sick, apparently war obsessed people in 'control' of our society?

it's about time we took on a more healthy approach to the subject of sex, and i honestly believe that prostitution should be legalized to take care of the ever-present sexual urges that will not go away, with all the government legislation in the world, and to also collect much needed tax revenue for infrastructure, etc - (love is like a river, you dam it up and it overflows...)

...or at very least some sort of legalized erotic sexual massage done like the car make-out scene in ‘animal house’, with rubber gloves to keep the health department - and the johns - happy!!! - (like what girlfriends do when they decide to make themselves useful)

and as for the recent prostitution 'scandal' in sunnyvale...prostitution should be seen as an unstoppable reality, much like rock and roll, not something that can actually be ‘ceased and desisted’, because not only do women refuse to have their bodies controlled by the government in any way, whether it be abortion rights or prostitution (two closely connected issues if you ask me) but get real, prostitution is said to be the world's oldest profession and is not going away any time soon...

in fact, i had a friend who said his dad was once a cop, and the favorite part of his dad’s job was dealing with the prostitutes!...can you blame him?...(i used to see a hooker walking around down at first street and highway 280 while out working my job in downtown san jose all the time for a number of years, and you never heard about ‘sex offenders’ back then...now the street hooker is gone, and san jose has become the ‘sex offender’ capital of the world)

i also believe that the government has become increasingly - and wrongfully - involved in the private sex lives of individuals, and by overcoming the u.s. government's general queasiness on the subject of sex, we will heal society in the process, and all the 'sex offenders' will have a place to go where prostitutes who understand their individual needs can help them in a loving and legal (and possibly even 'rubber gloved') fashion...

you know, i absolutely get sick of reading in the san jose mercury newspaper about san jose’s 'sex offender capital of the world' status every morning while sitting on the toilet taking my morning crap, and changes in attitudes towards sex and sexuality are needed to change this deviant trend...

i saw a documentary on television a few years back about the rosicrucians and the essenes(known to be jesus christ's tribe of people)and their struggles with the ancient roman empire...it seems that roman soldiers had to come through a certain mountain pass on their way to jerusalem, and as a way to stop them, the rosicrucians and the essenes would involve themselves in bloody battles to thwart their incursion into jerusalem...

a new way to deal with the romans arose from the texts of the dead sea scrolls several hundred years before the birth of christ, and this new non-violent method spoke of a messiah (actually a few messiahs) that would ultimately turn the tides...probably the most well documented messiah was the christ child - a 'child king' whose mere existence would so enrage king herod that a price was on his head from the first day of his life...

anyway, as the story goes, many years later a lady named mary magdalen supposedly took the holy grail - a golden cup that contained the blood of christ - off to france after his crucifixion, and for most of us, the story kind of ended there...but in recent years, evidence uncovered within france shows a succession of stone monuments spread over miles of territory, that if viewed from a bird's eye view makes a perfect five sided object, or pentagram!...

some of the greatest minds in history belonged to this secret and very ancient rosicrucian society, everyone from albert einstein to claude debussy, and it has become increasingly possible that jesus may have in fact been a rosicrucian, perhaps like the 'head rosicrucian' or something...

right after the atomic bombs were dropped on japan bringing an end to wwii, two separate archaeologists in egypt 'coincidentally' found these missing books from modern biblical texts – 1) the book of john - not the same john as in the new testament – 2) the book of thomas - and they both spoke of a gentle man named jesus who encouraged people to develop their 'inner spiritual growth'...

the 'unfolding of the spirit' is precisely what is prescribed by rosicrucian doctrine (doctrine and religion are different) and this man named jesus seemed to 'walk the walk and talk the talk' of the rosicrucians, so to speak...

anyway, this is why i believe france is playing a key role in keeping the dream of world peace alive...and while america tends to be a sort of very violent and 'consciously sexually repressed socially engineered population control nation', so to speak, recent studies suggest that people in france have more sex than any other country...

(oh, and the federal energy regulatory commission - or ferc - has decided to release the energy 'crises' documents on march 20th...so, please veto the latest UN resolution calling for military force against iraq on march 17th...) - question: did secret government operatives sabotage the shuttle mission to direct future finances away from nasa to further military complex interests? maybe? just maybe?...

while it may be tasteless to implicate the secret government in the shuttle disaster and the 9-11 terror attacks upon america, just remember that 1986 was a republican and/or illuminati dominated america just like 2003 is, and it would be relatively easy for a secret government military industrial complex sympathizer to sabotage a shuttle mission by loitering 'after hours' and tinkering with this and that...(and after all, robert hanssen was the fbi agent that made 9-11 possible, now wasn’t he???)

then there is also the possibility of direct or subtle ancient et influence...there are many ‘illuminati conspiracy’ theories connecting government to ufo influence, and while it sounds a little crazy...

the night before 9-11, rumsfeld spoke of cutting back the military forces by saying something along the lines of  'we will be cutting the tail off the dog, not piece by piece, but all at once', an awful metaphor, but very descriptive nonetheless...we were about to massively cut back the us military and move towards space based initiatives, and the next morning we had 9-11...

ok, now; since the original biblical old testament texts stated something along the lines of 'beings from another member of the solar system came to earth and created beings in their own likeness’ - most likely the hebrews - to mine gold (in north africa) that was to be suspended in the atmosphere of their planet'...essentially, it looks like these same beings then abandoned this planet, leaving us with the tradition of mining gold(which has turned into our modern money system)with the top hebrew dog (alan greenspan) in charge of overseeing all the gold...

so slave reparations should be acquired from extraterrestrials? what are we gonna do, mine some more gold and just hand out gold bars, or what? this might just be a viable solution...anyway...
