So we took that as a "no." Even the nesting shore birds, who continue to express concern about the reverberations of shoreline activities all refused to be our mascot! - And then, lo and behold! Cautiously, I asked, "Who is it?"..."Chicken!" -- "Chicken Who?" -- "Chicken - as in "Are you too chicken to talk about the stuff that's over your head?"...

Thus began a conversation about that which is beyond my comprehension and could be falling down on us - As it turns out, Chicken Little was looking for a podium from which one staunch feather could be pointed upwards. Accustomed to being ignored and entirely pish-posed, I could see that this bird had qualities I liked. There's that persistence factor, for one thing. And Chicken Little is quite adept at running around and sounding the alarm while the rest of us ponder and are amused. These are good qualities in a mascot. One of the things you might not have considered about Chicken Little is his work to try to get the other animals to organize. Very pre-Orwellian! -- So here at Camp StopLFAS, we sometimes talk about our mascot, Chicken Little, who of course refuses to appear out in the open without his air-raid helmet. As it happens, Chicken Little is well acquainted with weather as a weapon of war and tells me that various invasive technologies deserve our complete attention. Of course, all of that is above my head! -- Contemplatively, there are several web sites which are dedicated to the task of debunking modern myths. But few of us make it a task to draw attention to a matter for the sake of creating a modern myth...or to draw a parallel between a modern circumstance and a traditional children's myth. Chicken Little is happy to volunteer for such a task so long as he gets to say, "The Sky is Falling!" - And the sky isn't only falling. How come storms of such extreme magnitudes are happening with increasing regularity? - Maybe it's a myth that if you stir up enough dust or enough trouble, you can seed the clouds with particles around which moisture may condense? - Maybe it's a myth that multi-national naval exercises are sending wonkiness into the skies? - Maybe it's a myth that there are International treaties which are supposed to prevent nations from implementing conditions which could cause extremen weather to deliberately occur? - Everyone talks about the weather. Maybe it's time we added something to that conversation? - Maybe we can convey some urgency behind the message that there's a need to focus on peaceful intent? Perhaps, if we heed even a little bit of what Chicken Little has been saying all along; people would stop to consider if a demonstration of peaceful intention could be a better choice than endlessly conducting war games? If people began to associate extreme weather with activities promulgated by military mayhem; would they in fact be myth-taken? > NOTE: in the early 1900s, Dr. Duncan MacDougall sought to measure the weight purportedly lost by a human body when the soul departed upon death - MacDougall weighed dying patients in an attempt to prove that the soul was material, tangible and thus measurable. These experiments are wrongfully considered to have little, if any scientific merit, and MacDougall's results varied considerably from 21 grams, but for some people this figure has become synonymous with the measure of a soul's mass...

Dr. MacDougall postulated the soul was material and therefore had mass (energy = mass), therefore a measurable drop in the weight of the deceased would be noted at the moment this essence parted ways with the physical remains. The belief that human beings are possessed of souls which depart their bodies after death and that these souls have detectable physical presences were around well before the 20th century, but claims that souls have measurable mass which falls within a specific range of weights can be traced to experiments conducted by Dr. MacDougall in 1907...

Seeking to determine "if the psychic functions continue to exist as a separate individuality or personality after the death of brain and body," Dr. MacDougall constructed a special bed in his office "arranged on a light framework built upon very delicately balanced platform beam scales" sensitive to two-tenths of an ounce. He installed upon this bed a succession of six patients in the end stages of terminal illnesses (four from tuberculosis, one from diabetes, and one from unspecified causes); observed them before, during, and after the process of death; and measured any corresponding changes in weight. He then attempted to eliminate as many physiological explanations for the observed results as he could conceive:

1) The patient's comfort was looked after in every way, although he was practically moribund when placed upon the bed. He lost weight slowly at the rate of one ounce per hour due to evaporation of moisture in respiration and evaporation of sweat. During all three hours and forty minutes I kept the beam end slightly above balance near the upper limiting bar in order to make the test more decisive if it should come. At the end of three hours and forty minutes he expired and suddenly coincident with death the beam end dropped with an audible stroke hitting against the lower limiting bar and remaining there with no rebound. The loss was ascertained to be three-fourths of an ounce.

2) This loss of weight could not be due to evaporation of respiratory moisture and sweat, because that had already been determined to go on, in his case, at the rate of one sixtieth of an ounce per minute, whereas this loss was sudden and large, three-fourths of an ounce in a few seconds. The bowels did not move; if they had moved the weight would still have remained upon the bed except for a slow loss by the evaporation of moisture depending, of course, upon the fluidity of the feces. The bladder evacuated one or two drams of urine. This remained upon the bed and could only have influenced the weight by slow gradual evaporation and therefore in no way could account for the sudden loss...


QUESTION: was the extreme weather of the winter of 2005 caused by massive amounts of energy emanating from those taken by the tsunami? - it is said that a human body loses about 21 grams at the point of 'death' - what is 21 grams x 286,000? - do the math - that is a whole lot of energy to be released all at once into the atmosphere - the earthquake that triggered the tsunami released the energy of 100 billion tons of TNT - more than the power of a thousand 1-megaton hydrogen bombs - i did some independent research a few years back regarding this phenomenon @ http://www.likroper.com/onlygoodv8n1.htm - so check it out...scroll down to the PERHAPS section...one of the main goals of my research was to show that collateral damage from distant warfare is far beyond what government physicists care to admit, and eventually bring an end to the evils of warfare etc ONCE AND LITERALLY FOR ALL...it might not happen until long after my demise, but at least i have planted the seed...did you know that albert einstein's research was not fully acknowledged until 25 years after he came up with the E=MC2 equation?...or that einstein was a high school drop-out like me?
